Scope and Contents

Architect. Papers (1958-2017) and architectural drawings (1961-1996) of William "Bill" Murphy, and architectural drawings (1951-1983) by architect Herb Greene. Murphy’s papers contain correspondence with Herb Greene, Lloyd Wright, Bruce Goff, Esther McCoy, and others. The papers also contain publicity materials, posters, and clippings about exhibitions, building projects, and architects. The graphic materials include drawings created over the span of Murphy’s career as an architect from his student days at the University of Oklahoma, to his work for New York University, at Kahn and Jacobs, and his partnership with Louis Muller. The Herb Greene materials include drawings created as a student of Bruce Goff at the University of Oklahoma, as well as later works.
