Black-and-white original and copy prints of construction of the Alaska-Canadian, or Alcan, Highway during World War II in British Columbia, Yukon Territory, and Alberta, Canada, and Alaska. This collection includes aerial views and scenes of road construction equipment, airplanes, trains, automobiles, barges, boats, ferries, Independence Day celebration, Canadian Rocky Mountains, and wildlife. Towns and areas in the collection include Summit Lake, Alaska; Edmonton and Grande Prairie, Alberta; Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, Fort St. John, Muskwa, and Swan Lake, British Columbia; Watson Lake and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory; and Liard River; Peace River; Sikanni River; and Horse Lake.
