Translator. This collection contains the professional papers (1971-2020) of Brian Holton, translator of award-winning poet Yang Lian’s poetry from Chinese to English and Scots. The papers contain correspondence, translation drafts, writing and research notes, and diaries related to Holton’s translation work, teaching, and associated activities. Printed publicity materials from poetry readings, festivals, and other events document many of his public appearances. Also included are documents and photographs on computer disks, as well as recorded readings and performances on both digital and analog media.

Translator. This collection contains the personal and professional papers of Howard Goldblatt, an American translator of Chinese literature including the works of Nobel Prize in Literature winner Mo Yan. The papers contain Goldblatt's correspondence with authors, editors, and publishing houses from across Mainland China, Taiwan, and elsewhere; drafts of Goldblatt's many translations; and notes created during his translation work. Goldblatt's personal library of over 7,000 volumes is also held by the Chinese Literature Translation Archive.
Biologist. Professor. The Alice Middleton Boring Collection consists of the scholarly research into the life of Boring by Marilyn Bailey Ogilvie and Clifford J. Choquett. The research concluded with the publication of 'A dame full of vim and vigor: a biography of Alice Middleton Boring, biologist in China' in 1999. The collection includes typescripts, correspondence, research notes, files, and images for the book.
Translator. This collection contains the professional papers (1961-2019) of Wai Lim-yip, a poet, translator, critic, editor, and professor of Chinese and comparative literature. The papers contain correspondence, translation drafts, writing and research notes, and diaries related to Yip's academic work, teaching, and associated activities. The collection contains original manuscripts, some handwritten, of published academic work. Also included are many of Yip's teaching materials from classes he has run at UC San Diego.

Translator. This collection contains the personal and professional papers (1956-2019) of Wolfgang Kubin, a German poet and translator of modern Chinese literature. The papers feature manuscript and published poetry by many authors, including Yang Lian, Bei Dao, Zheng Chouyu, Duoduo, and Gu Cheng. Translation drafts and notes in German, Chinese, and English are present throughout the collection, along with related correspondence with Kubin. The papers also contain newspaper clippings and magazine articles about Chinese poets and poetry during the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
