Attorney. Notebooks of memoirs by Homer W. Wheeler, describing his life as an Army Scout; broadsides, newspapers, and handbills regarding the settlement of Kansas; along with a wide variety of other documents collected by Farley and relating the the Civil War, settlement of Kansas, Indian battles on the Great Plains with an emphasis on Kansas, and on the history of the American West in general. Also included is one of the two known copies of the "Siwinowe Kesibwi" (Shawnee Sun) newspaper (1841).

Letterbook (1869-1878) kept by the commissary supply officer of Camp Supply, Indian Territory, established in 1868 as a base for operations against the Plains Indians. The letterbook contains copies of letters sent, lists of names of captured Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians, information relating to their maintenance, and reports on bands of hostile Indians.

Correspondence, including personal data sheets on Indian War veterans and letters requesting assistance in obtaining pensions, etc.; diary extracts describing experiences in various Indian wars, especially from 1860-1900, against the Dakotas, Cheyennes, Paiutes, Arapahos, Kiowas, Comanches, and Apaches; a manuscript written by Gen. T.H. Slavens, entitled "San Carlos, Arizona in the Eighties; The Land of the Apache" describing the Indian activity around San Carlos, 1849-1894; and publications, including issues of "Winners of the West" (1937-1944)"The Veteran Corps Bulletin" (1952, 1954)"William McKinley Camp Bulletin" (1954)"Warpath" (1955-1956), and the proceedings of the 25th annual convention of Indian War veterans. Correspondence (1865-1866), alterations reports (1855-1902), muster rolls (1865-1869) and casualty returns (1856-1868) from the Regiment's service in Minnesota, Kansas, Utah, and Dakota Territories, as well as Cuba and the Philippines. Included are casualty statistics and action reports, several of which regard engagements with the Sioux and Cheyenne Indians. From 1898 on, many of the Regiment's soldiers were enlistees from Fort Reno, Oklahoma Territory.
