Correspondence (1921-1922) to Conkling concerning personnel changes at Roxana Petroleum Corporation, Ardmore, Oklahoma, including Conkling's resignation as Head Geologist in 1922, and his subsequent employment; an employment contract (1914) between Conkling and the Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappy, a Dutch corporation; and certificates (1929-1946). Also included is a reprint of a biographical memorial (1952) of Conkling written by Albert S. Clinkscales shortly after Conkling's death.

The collection includes personal and professional correspondence, performance programs, contracts, and other materials regarding his life and career with the University of Oklahoma, the Cimarron Circuit Opera Company, and his many performances around the world. Some materials also relate to his first wife, contralto Carol Brice Carey, as well as to his second wife, Carol Renner Carey.

This collection also contains survey reports (1905-1906) submitted to the Samples Coal Mining Company regarding the potential coal wealth of the Choctaw Nation, which the Samples Company later mined.
