Silver medal given by James Monroe to the Seminole Indians of Florida in 1817, possibly to either one of these noted chiefs: Osceola or Billy Bowlegs. It was the property of and buried with a Kiowa named “Mi-ea-lau” meaning “White Man’s Name, Woman’s Heart.” Medal was dug up by a Mr. Caldwell and purchased by Fred Wenner. Original print, 4x6.
