Certficates; teaching contracts; a teaching assignment from the United States Indian Service at McAlester, Oklahoma; and the "Choctaw Spelling Book" or "Chata Holisso" printed by the Richmond Presbyterian Committee of Publication, containing the "Chata Alphabet" symbols, tables, vocabularies, the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, names of animals, money tables, and moral essays, all in the Choctaw language.

Huggard’s master’s thesis (1987)“The Role of the Family in Settling the Cherokee Outlet” with chapters regarding the land run of 1893, settlement and housing patterns, and interaction with neighbors. Also in this collection is a paper by Huggard later published in the Chronicles of Oklahoma, titled “Culture Mixing: Everyday Life Among the Choctaw in the Mid-Nineteenth Century” and a postcard (1989) commemorating the Land Run of 1889.

The collection also includes photographs of participants in the Choctaw conflict known as the Locke-Jones War or the Antlers War, along with scenes of the towns of McAlester, Antlers, and Ti, Indian Territory. Journalist. Folsom family correspondence; a notebook used by Folsom as a student at Atoka Baptist Seminary; and papers relating to his journalism career at the Atoka INDIAN CITIZEN. The collection includes annual reports (1895-1900) of the U.S. Board of Indian Commissioners; a copy of the acts and resolutions (1897) of the General Council of the Choctaw Nation; two volumes of a hymnal written in Choctaw; two copies of the "Laws of the Choctaw Nation" (1886-1891) written in English and Choctaw; a Choctaw New Testament; a Choctaw Pentateuch (1867); and a letter (1885) in Choctaw from Alfred Folsom to Rev. Rainie Winthrop.

Correspondence of Pitchlynn with prominent citizens and family members in the Choctaw Nation; personal journals (1815) and diary (1828-1832) of Pitchlynn; official reports (1825-1841) of the Choctaw Academy in Kentucky; and Pitchlynn family records (1806-1867). Also includes a signed copy of the articles of surrender and peace negotiated between the Choctaw Nation and the United States at the close of the Civil War, and extensive correspondence reflecting the state of the Choctaw Nation just prior to and during the Civil War years, with special regard to slavery.
