No. 6339. At the time of its completion in May, 1954, this coal-burning steam turbine electric locomotive was the largest single unit locomotive in the world. With loaded tender, it weighs 586 tons and is 161 feet, 11/2 inches long. Its 4,500 horsepower flows through its 6-6-6-6 wheel arrangement.
