George C. McGhee papers
U.S. Ambassador. Papers and artifacts of George Crews McGhee, who served as 8th U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, and 4th U.S. Ambassador to West Germany. McGhee’s career achievements include being a Rhodes Scholar, oil entrepreneur, naval officer, diplomat, philanthropist, and author. The papers contain his business correspondence (1950-2002), ambassadorial papers (1948-1968), personal correspondence (1935-2002), writings and speeches (1928-2005), financial records (1947-1978), and family history materials (1980-2002). The collection also contains photographs, slides, scrapbooks, and memorabilia documenting the McGhee family’s life and world travels; as well as Mesoamerican artifacts collected primarily by McGhee’s father-in-law, Everette Lee DeGolyer, and by Ambassador and Mrs. McGhee. The bulk of the papers (1937-1998) relate to Ambassador McGhee’s business enterprises and to his service to the country as a member of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Department of State.

Many aerial views of the terrain of the land where the Altus Project was being constructed. These are excellent photographs showing the topography of the country in southwestern Oklahoma. The Wichita Mountains figure prominently in many of the pictures. Much of the land is under cultivation or has been torn up because of the construction work that is going on. Most of these were taken in 1941-1942; however there are a few that were taken in 1945. The photographers are Frank C. Breitenstein and P.W. George., 1941-1942, 1945

Black and white original and copy prints of Patrick Jay Hurley's career as United States Assistant Secretary of War and Secretary of War, special presidential representative to the Soviet Union, Great Britain, Afghanistan, and the Middle East, and United States Ambassador to China during World War II. The collection contains scenes of Hurley with Joseph W. Stilwell, Chou En-lai, Mao Tse-tung, Chiang Kai-shek, Douglas MacArthur, Claire Lee Chennault, and Herbert Hoover. Also included are photographs of Secretary of War Hurley's inspection tours of United States military installations, suppression of the Bonus Army riots in 1932, Hurley with Japanese military representatives, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Charles A. Melvin Shivvers papers and architectural drawings
Architect. The collection contains class notebooks, architectural drawings, and artifacts (1954-1963) produced by Melvin Shivvers while he was a student in the University of Oklahoma School of Architecture. The collection also contains sepia and blueline prints from glass slides depicting examples of Renaissance architecture that were used for study by students.
